Thanks Heavens Ministries Anti-Gang initiative, is to address the critical needs of our community by helping to solve one of our biggest problems today, which is gangs and adolescent crime. You have wondered as have so many in our community; “What can we do about the crime wave among our youth and the gang problem?” The percentage of dropouts in our schools is nothing short of alarming. What can we do to keep children in school and have them want to learn? These children desperately need education in order to succeed in this world. So how can we get them to make better grades or try? Another problem that people would rather not face is the homeless situation that is so obvious everywhere you turn today. On any given street corner there may be someone pushing a cart or holding up a cardboard sign pleading for the kindness of strangers. These are not the failures in society, but the unlucky ones who had situations happen that caused the crumble to the world they knew. It can be a simple or very complex set of circumstances such as: a divorce, drugs, drinking, mental illness, death of family, a lay off, lack of finding work and finally loosing everything. Sometimes a robbery can cause a nightmare loop of circumstances that seem almost imposable to overcome. So where can you turn when you have nothing left? Thanks Heavens Ministries - Homeless Yesterday initiative, is to build a second chance center for the homeless. Providing them with Skills, Shelter, and Substance to sustain them and the courage and hope to try again. They will soon look at their despair as something that happened to them yesterday and they will be the inspiring stories for others to follow, knowing that there is hope again and someone cares to give them their second chance. We can not solve all the problems, but for sure we can not solve any of the problems without your help, it takes community efforts to solve community problems. We are willing to do the hard work, but we need help to build the center and fund the project. |
